The Balancing Act

Ah, I've spoke to a few of my close friends about this topic recently...how does one do it? How do you balance a full-time job, gym, fellowship, Church and school at the same time? Since I've started taking Quantitative Stats&Analysis, it's been hard. I think tonight is the first night that I've been watching TV. I've missed watching Heros, 24, NCIS this season...went to the gym 2x this week, it's an improvement for this year.

Although, friends have been encouraging me lately so that is good. A couple of you are going through the same things as me and it's great to know that I'm not alone in this...Thank you for all your support=) I just have to learn to lift it all up to God, He will take care of me.

I've gotta go finish packing now for my trip as I leave my homework behind, it'll be waiting for me when I get back...sigh....I will try to have fun this weekend=) Need to relax...now what does that word mean again? LOL.

Where did the weekend go?

I seriously don't know where the weekend went. It just flew right by.

On Saturday, I went w/ DD,MJ,CC to the US for a bit of shopping. I've never been to Buffalo before to shop so it was an interesting experience. Had minor problems/delays at the border both ways. Their check was quite thorough, including asking personal questions on how everyone knew each other, destination, passports, purpose, duration, etc...Coming back similar problem but this time everyone had to get out of the Mazda3 and show the receipts of purchases, etc...Of course, the trunk was a bit high and out of my reach and CC who's taller than me jumped back in the car, so I jumped up to grab and close the trunk. Never had to jump to reach it b4...lol. I had lots of fun shopping w/ MJ in all the shops, of course, all girlz like shopping. I bought a top from Tommy Hilfilgar and one from Gap. Yes it's only gray/white and white respectively but.........it the white blouse goes w/ the red sweater I bought from Jacob.

After heading back from the US, I got carded, so I guess I don't pass for an 18 year old at least. Compliment for me, yay!

On Sunday, I went to a local Church and learned quite a bit. It's been awhile since I've been at OHC. I've only been there a few times now, I'm starting to remember names and faces. Although that Church has four services, it's pretty full for a 9am service. I enjoyed the worship immensly, and the message as well. For a summary of the sermon: http://bonsspiritualjourney.blogspot.com
Focus was on prayer and that's what was done after service. It all starts with you...bring before Him a broken heart that only He (God) can mend. Be humble and lower yourself, bring yourselves off of that pedestal, confess all, and show that loving kindness that Jesus has shows us.

Unfortunately, I couldn't hang out w/ friends that evening, no matter how much I wanted to...I actually cleaned my room and spent countless hours doing homework (blah!) How depressing.

The Dim Sum Trio

Soooooo far, we have the "Cheung-Fun", "Dan-Tat" and the "Fun-Gao." These nicknames are soooo much fun. Each one given by the other that describes him/her best attributes. Who can be the "siu mai" or "har gao" or cha siu bao"? hahaha...

Ahhhh....for now the Dim Sum Trio is cool.

Now I want to eat some more dumplings...Just made some homemade "har-gao" and "fun-gao"!

Hanging out in TO this weekend

If you've read the blogs below...you'll know I've been in TO quite a bit this week. Today would have been my fourth time going down this week.

Yesterday(Saturday) the girlz (Em, Alana, Elaine and I) went to Eaton Centre for a day of shopping. It was pretty fun and I even wore heels. That's right, all day in heels. Everyone bought stuff either from Jacob/Smart Set except for me=( The girlz convinced me buy a red sweater from Jacob which looks really really nice, I think is the word. The tone of red was really nice, with the white blouse underneath. It had the power look. Our method of transportation was TTC. I've only taken the TTC once before, like 10 years ago. Alana was like the"mother hen" of the group making sure I didn't get lost. You know me and my directions. Unfortunately, the TTC had a slight electrical problem was delayed our ride back but we chilled at Tim Horton's on Bloor.

When we got back to Sauga, we met up with the boyz at Ikea and they bought a few items for their new place. I'm a bit stronger than I look...I helped one of the boyz carry a shelf just to find it didn't fit in the car as well so we all helped dismantle it to fit. Hung out for a short time but left shortly after b/c I had duties this morning.

This afternoon, I went back to TO for a bit, not too long...When I got home, got into an arguement w/ my m so I stayed home tonight. I had dinner w/ them and watched a movie on TV so that I'm spending a bit of time at home. I can understand her concern too, today would have been the 2nd time I've been home for dinner this week.

HotPot Friday

Ahhhhhhhh...Thank goodness for HotPot Friday. I really needed this week to end. I got a chance to vent at the gym for fifteen minutes. I know sooooooooo short but due to the lack of time, I only did a fifteen minute workout=(

Last night, My Fellowship Friends, and old friends from School went to HotPot in Mississauga at Sun Sun Chinese Cuisine at the Old Chinatown Centre. Although I was a few minutes late, I was shocked to see some of them there before me. I think I'm running on the "Asian Standard Time" and this is not good. I've been late for everything this week, including work=(Gotta really break this habit. Even Dave was on time or a bit early...Thanks to the guests that came out, Jay, Ryan, Greg, Joel, Eric, Chanthan and the people who arrived on time (bonus points) to all six of you (Cliff, Andrew, Yifan, Chanthan, Eric, Dave) There were a total of seventeen people that came, two large tables. I had lots of seafood and chicken/beef/pork...ummmmmm...Yum!
Yes, it's true...my friend Chanthan, although extremely tiny...can out eat Cliff...She is tiny but beware...she can eat lots. Way to go!

After the HotPot, a group of us headed to BBTea at Tea168 the ususal hangout place. Just to say, I don't pay attention when driving, I overshot my exit so I had to take the local roads back...Sigh, the last one there=( but everyone had a great time.

For those that missed it and couldn't make it, there's always next time OR you can plan one and I'll just come out.

Bad Start to the New Year

Ahhhhh...My driving doesn't seem to be off to a good start this year. I've kinda "tapped" two vehicles this year...On Wednesday night, I went over to my friend Chih's place in TO and trying to scramble for a parking spot, I kinda "tapped" a Mercedes while backing out=( I did check, before I left and there were no scrathes/dent on either vehicles. I gave up and parked in the "P" and paid $5.00. The second incident was 24hours later, parking in my driveway, I kinda misjudged the Mitsibishi(my brother's) and "tapped" his too. Still, two vehicles in a span of 48hrs is not good. I think it also has something to do w/ being tired. I really have to stop sleeping at 2am every night. It's bad when I started working again=( When I was on holidays it was fine because I wouldn't wake up til 10am but when I'm back to work, I miss my pillow so much.

Anyways, I hope this "bad start" is finished. I want to look forward to a great New Year! New beginnings, new friendships...At the same time, I want to continue to grow closer w/ my friends in my fellowship and all those that are close to me=) You are all important to me.

A New Year

How did I celebrate the New Year???? It is certainly much more different than I had imagine from a few weeks ago. How things can change soooooooooo fast...Regardless, it was fun ringing in the New Year's w/ my close friends w/ good food and board games.

Goal:
Gotta start coming home before 1am and start sleeping before 2:30am, this will really kill me when I go back to work.
