What a weekend, I've been traumatized?
Last weekend, here in the GTA, we were hit with 30cm of snow. When I slept over at a friend's place in RH on Saturday thinking it'll save me the drive on Sunday and the snow storm, I was apparently wrong. My friends had a dinner gathering in RH where we all prepared dinner whether it was homemade or store bought "homemade PC Cheesecake" or homemade neptune salad, Southern Fried Chicken, noodles, etc... it was just the company that made it great. I was able to get my friend to make Southern Fried Chicken w/o drying the chicken, so it was moist. Although, it started to snow, so two of them took longer than expected to grace us with their presence. After dinner, Maggie was serving L's Cheesecake topped w/ Hagen Daz Bailey ice cream, it was so rich:) For post Dessert, the boyz were eating my homemade white choc.mac.nut cookies w/ beer 'Stella'. Apparently, it tastes good w/ that combo. What can I say? Except I have a couple cookie monsters on my hands, LOL...After dinner, M&K got all of us to play "the game of Life" Simpsons Style. So I was Mrs.K, a teacher, w/ $80K salary, married w/ one son. M&K opted out of the education but still made a killing. We all had a few drinks, to toast to a great Christmas, the first one for M&K.
Sunday morning, when I woke up, there was very little snow in RH so I decided to drive back to sauga for Church. Of course, I checked w/ Sam, one of my friends in Sauga who said, my area is clear...however, when I got to the 404South, it was snow covered w/ approx. 3" of snow, and it was make your own lane on the 401. It took me an hour and 15minutes to get to Church and apparently I was told I got there pretty quick. I knew that God had His angels watching over me b/c I was sliding across the 401 and I was pretty scared. The snow just kept coming down at a phenominal rate, that it was hard to keep up. Worship was great, I really enjoyed it.
Due to the snow storm, we brought the noodles over to Marc's place to eat. Unfortunately, I had a bad headache, so I couldn't remember where to turn and what street so I got lost in Marc's territory. I couldn't turn around b/c there was too much snow and there were cars behind me. Not knowing that one of the car's was Dave's. I had called him earlier b/c I got lost and I started to panic. Marc, Sam, Elaine, and Bonnie#2 were in the lobby waiting for us but it took a long time. We tried to make our own parking spots and got out shovels but were told to park elsewhere as "PlowKing" was cleaning the area. Apparently, the girlz said it was funny to watch us interact. As Elaine puts it, I had my knights in shining armor come rescue the damsel in distress, being me. It was a stressful experience as I don't have much experience driving in the snow. It took me two hours to get home, plus my car got stuck on one of the side streets here in Burlington. I got to call my mom and brother to bail me out and let's just say, my car smelled like burnt rubber. My mom fell while trying to help me, and I feel really bad.
Thanks to my friends for calling me to make sure I got home safe and sound=)
